Sam Burrell

Sam has been consulting since 2013, and has worked with societies, publishers, technology providers and intermediaries on a diverse range of projects, including interim positions as Publisher and Marketing Director. In her first year as a consultant her work led to a very early – and successful – Publish and Read subscription product in 2013.

Sam’s background is in product development, and her years of experience as a translator between technology and marketing departments have honed her skills as a knowledgeable problem solver, negotiator, facilitator and fire-fighter. She started in the industry at Ingenta in 1999, where she led marketing, product development, and operations. Her ability to challenge preconceptions and assumptions, and her fearlessness in the face of particularly complex problems (and tricky people), is second to none. She somehow manages the hardest of projects with energy, enthusiasm, and an industry-recognised laugh.
